We are the school we always wished existed.
Founded in Chicago by Toriano "The Wolfkeeper" Sanzone, Wolfkeeper University brings together behavioral scientists, cinematographers, veterans, and world-class trainers under a single standard — that every dog and every family deserves an exceptional education.

Toriano Sanzone.
Personally mentored by Cesar Millan, Toriano built the Wolfkeeper method by studying under the world's most recognized behaviorist and then translating that mastery into an academic institution the world could learn from.
From street rescues in Chicago to service dogs deployed with veterans, Toriano's life work is now a curriculum, a foundation, and a global community.

From Chicago rescues to the Humane Society stage.
Twenty-seven years, six continents, one relentless mission — the making of a modern movement in canine welfare.
As a child on Chicago's South Side, Toriano learns to read dogs from his mother Tonia — the quiet mentor whose love for animals would shape the movement to come.
Toriano opens the first Wolfkeeper training kennel — a one-room studio dedicated to reactive-dog rehabilitation using humane, energy-based methodology.
Selected personally by Cesar Millan for a multi-year mentorship at the Dog Psychology Center — the crucible where the Wolfkeeper method is refined.

Wolfkeeper places its first cohort of service dogs with returning veterans, planting the seed for what would become the Golden Wolf Foundation.
The Denver residence campus opens — a 22-acre training facility with faculty housing, on-site veterinary partners, and a film studio.
The nonprofit arm of Wolfkeeper is formalized to fund veteran service dogs, youth trainers, and community rescue programs at no cost to recipients.
International Wolfkeeper trainers and ambassadors begin operating on six continents. Certification standards are formally published.
The Humane Society names Toriano "The Wolfkeeper" Sanzone its Trailblazer of the Year — the movement's highest honor. The dedication: to Tonia Sanzone, the mother who started it all.

Wolfkeeper opens its doors to the world with a full digital curriculum, AI tutoring, and a global cohort of students — from puppy raisers to master trainers.
Twenty-four years of proof.
Every dog that has passed through our doors — from Chicago rescues to Kenyan anti-poaching K9s — has become part of an evolving science. We film, we document, we peer review, and we teach. We call it cinematic apprenticeship.
In 2026, we open our online university to the world — the culmination of a two-decade project to make the finest canine education globally accessible.
